Dear Class of 71
It's great to hear from you all. In time I will write to each one of you.  For now here are some glimpses of my life story and some pictures of me and my family.
My life story so far ..... I've had my share of triumphs and disappointments.
I am happily married with two kids (Sara 11 and Hussein 6). I have a secure job as a lecturer at KAU (King Abdulaziz University) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that I've held on to for the past 26 years. I completed a B Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Cairo University in 1977, an M Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Miami (Coral Gables, Fla.) in 1981, another M Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oklahoma (Norman, OK.) in 1986 and I'm working to complete my Ph. D. in Computer Science from the University of Manchester (England) which I’m due to complete by the end of this year.

2008
My disappointments include one previous failed marriage. I have two other kids (Mohammad 25 & Lubna 24) that I have not heard from for the past 16 years. My Ex actually called me about 5 months ago and gave me  their email addresses. I still have not heard from them although I've sent them many emails. .....
Another disappointment is the fact that I've wasted so much time in pursuing my educational goals. What should normally take 5 years to complete (Ph. D. degree), I've still not completed after 20 years. Eventually, I'll get there if I keep trying. .... I've been a student practically all my life... On the other hand, lifelong learning isn't such bad thing and it beats being in a track that I do not like. In my case I feel lucky to be able to change tracks and to be where I want to be.

On the whole, I would say more triumphs than disappointments. I am thankful for this.

As for my travels, after leaving KL I've visited Egypt, USA, Canada and England. I enjoy traveling as I'm sure you all do. I haven't been back to Malaysia yet.  This year I will be spending a lot of my time in Manchester (England). So if anybody is planning to go to Europe this summer perhaps they can include England in their plans.
Bye for Now
