I actually joined ISKL the year it opened so for a while I was in the class that graduated in '71. In tenth grade though I left school for a year to do some UK exams and went back the following year one grade down. So I actually graduated in 72, along with Kathy Madison, Sheldon Clark, etc. Actually in that year that I was out of school, ISKL underwent an incredible change - grew a LOT in terms of premises but also in numbers and the whole ethos changed from being a fairly conservative group of students to a pretty liberal bunch! Went from careful miniskirts and makeup to jeans, baggy T-shirts, long straggly hair and bare feet! We sure had a great time!
Kathy Madison and I met up 2 years ago after not having seen each other for thirty years and I hunted the house down for my year book without any luck.
I've been living on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus for the last 18 years and I love it because it gives me a mixture of Europe and my beloved Malaysia - hibiscus flowers, snorkeling in warm seas, eating outside but also daffodils in spring, a sense of belonging to the local culture and a fireplace in the winter. My three kids have all left home to study in my homeland, Switzerland, so hubby and I have embarked on that new stage of life where we actually have time to think of each other. I ended up training as an educational psychologist, love my work freelancing to support kids with mild learning difficulties. I'll never get rich on that but if I ever win the pools the first thing I'll do is go on a world cruise for a year.
